RARE Kitschy 50s Dragon Lady Wall Pocket/Wallpocket California Pottery

We just acquired a really funky and large collection of 1950s California Pottery style figures and wall pockets - all of them depicting oriental people. There are over 20 figures altogether. This one is unsigned and is a wallpocket. The very 3 dimensional front of the pocket depicts an oriental woman who is heavily decorated in an ornate headress. It (the headress) and trim are glazed in a very shiny gold finish. The base color of the plate is a very pale aqua blue. Her face and hands are white. Then her hair and some other trim is in a deep rose red color. She is in excellent condition. There is some age crazing to the glaze (see photos) and on the reverse side, there is a chip on the rim. Enlarge photos to see these details. 8" diameter and quite deep. Dimensions stated on photos as well. The person from whom I acquired this collection said that this piece was the first piece she acquired and which became the focal point of her entire group. Please note that unlike many of the other items on our site I will not be researching this collection as I do not own any books on the subject.
