Pottery:Jasperware:Jasper Ware
This jasperware plaque depicts a lovely lady sitting on a branch being offered a rose by an adorable angel/winged cherub. The wonderful ornate rim features a happy cherub's face on the crested top rim along with a pair of cornucopia immediately alongside. This plaque measures 7 1/2" x 6 1/2" and is in excellent condition. One closeup photo shows a factory flaw right by where the hanging holes are. There, a firing fissure resulted in a crack but fortunately it does not show on the front nor does ...

Pottery:Jasperware:Plaque
This mint condition jasperware plaque features a distinctive lavender border of 3 dimensional flowers. The focal point of the plaque are the 3 romping angels. Very sweet faces and simply a charming decorative wall piece. As one of several, these type of jasperware plaques look best when part of an arrangement (the last photo shows a simple arrangement of only 3 plaques as an example). Approx. 6 1/2" x 5". On the reverse there are no maker's marks - only an impressed number, 61. Undoubtedly ...

Wedgwood Dark (Olive) Green Tricolor Teapot Jasperware/Jasper Ware

$395 USDWedgwood Dark (Olive) Green Tricolor Teapot Jasperware/Jasper Ware

Pottery:Antique:English:Wedgwood:Jasperware
This wonderful petite teapot is in excellent condition. It is in the olive green color, aka "bleeding green". In this case it is also tricolor! This color was only produced for a period of about 25 years from the late 1800s to the early 1920s. The reason for the short production cycle is that this color was hard to control. The green would bleed into the white applied relief work and often, the horizontal piping trim on these pieces, when fired, would turn a pinkish color. This phenomenon became ...
Wedgwood Olive Green Tricolor Jasperware/Jasper Ware Toothpick/Matchholder

$78 USDWedgwood Olive Green Tricolor Jasperware/Jasper Ware Toothpick/Matchholder

Pottery:Antique:English:Wedgwood:Jasperware
This adorable little piece is certainly functional, but it's function eludes me! It is in the scarce dark olive green (bleeding green) color and is also tricolor. This color was produced for a limited period of time from the late 1800s to about 1920. The short production cycle was a result of the difficulty of controlling the color from bleeding into the white decoration. In addition, once fired, some of the trim pieces would turn a pinkish color - thus becoming known as "accidental" tricolor. ...
Gorgeous Framed Olive Green Jasperware/Jasper Ware Plaque - Woman with Lyre and Putto

$395 USDGorgeous Framed Olive Green Jasperware/Jasper Ware Plaque - Woman with Lyre and Putto

Pottery:Jasperware:Plaque
This is one of the more unique plaques I have had the pleasure to handle. The size is quite wonderful because just about everyone can find a sliver of wall somewhere in there home that this would be perfect for! Framed it measures 14" tall x 6" wide. The plaque is dark olive green jasperware with the diaphanously clad figure of a long-haired beauty playing a lyre. She seems to be floating as she is higher than her little angelic violin-playing playmate of a putto who is perched on a tree limb. A ...
Lovely Green Jasperware/Jasper Ware Plaque of Cupid and an Angel

$138 USDLovely Green Jasperware/Jasper Ware Plaque of Cupid and an Angel

Pottery:Jasperware:Plaque
This round plaque depicts Cupid handing a nest full of chicks to a beautiful winged woman. She sits on a bench with a mandolin in her left hand. A dove hovers between them. Obviously chock full of symbolism - all of which escapes me! The rim is decorated with a bounty of fruits - pineapples and grapes and other fruits. The plaque measures a hair under 7" in diameter and is in excellent condition. There are 2 sets of incised numbers on the reverse. Probably German and probably Schafer & Vater ...

Charming Vintage Ceramic Handmade Horse

$88 USDCharming Vintage Ceramic Handmade Horse

Pottery:Art Pottery:Figural
While the maker may be unknown, we do know that this horse has tons of charm. Very decorative and somewhat whimsical, we can easily picture this decorating your home! We also know that we acquired this piece in the early 1960s so now it is at least 45 years old! The total height including the base is approx. 10" x 7". The footprint of the base measures about 4" x 3". It is very securely mounted on its wooden base. What makes its charm is that it is executed in a very "painterly" manner - you can ...

3 Meakin England Butter Pats/Butterpats

$28 USD3 Meakin England Butter Pats/Butterpats

Pottery:English:Meakins
These 3 butter pates are very interesting because although on first glance they appear to be the same, there are variations. One is clearly different in that the center pattern is substantially smaller although the pattern is exactly the same. The two that are most alike vary in color distribution. They measure 3 3/8" in diameter. They are in very good antique condition with small pattern crazing of the surfaces and although there are no chips, cracks, or repairs, there are tiny rim color losses ...

Lovely 8" Majolica Pitcher - Rose or Wild Rose Pattern

$150 USDLovely 8" Majolica Pitcher - Rose or Wild Rose Pattern

Pottery:Antique:Majolica
Many, many variations of the rose (or wild rose) pattern were made. Here is a very nice example with a faux bark handle and nice dark blue rim and foot. As you will see in the photo there is a bruise on the rim (looks like it happened in the kiln) and glaze is missing from that area. Nice pink interior with some crazing. Priced at less than the bottom of its range!
Antique Cobalt Dib Jasperware Jug by Blyth Porcelain Co.

$58 USDAntique Cobalt Dib Jasperware Jug by Blyth Porcelain Co.

Pottery:Antique:English
This jug dates from just around the turn of the century, 1900. Without picking it up and looking at the impressed marks on the bottom, you would swear it was made by Wedgwood! It is, instead, made by the Blyth Porcelain Co. Even the reliefs are typical subject matter of Wedgwood. The jug is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. The details are wonderful and the relief work around the jug includes two tiny boy/girl children with a tiny dog, an older woman holding the hand of a ...
Antique Olive Green Wedgwood Cream and Sugar Set Tricolor

$260 USDAntique Olive Green Wedgwood Cream and Sugar Set Tricolor

Pottery:Antique:English:Wedgwood:Jasperware
Produced for only about 20 years from the late 1800s to about 1920, this is an olive green jasperware set. This deep green color is highly sought after by collectors precisely because of its unique qualities - really flaws - that occurred in its manufacture. The creamer measures 3 7/8" from tip of spount across handle, 3" in diameter at widest point, 1 7/8" high to top of handle. (note that the last photo shows a larger creamer listed separately). The covered sugar measures 3 3/4" diameter, 2 1 ...
Antique Wedgwood Olive Green Creamer (larger size) Tricolor

$195 USDAntique Wedgwood Olive Green Creamer (larger size) Tricolor

Pottery:Antique:English:Wedgwood:Jasperware
This creamer is quite large. Dimensions are stated on the photo. Incised marks in all Caps Wedgwood and England. Excellent condition too! No chips, cracks, repairs, etc. ca. late 1800s to about 1920. It features the "accidental" tricolor phenomenon. The lower piping is a pinkish color - a result of a flawed manufacturing process which adds considerably to the rareity and desireability of this olive or "bleeding green" color that was produced for only about 20 years because of Wedgwood's ...
