We just acquired a really funky and large collection of 1950s California Pottery style figures and wall pockets - all of them depicting oriental people. There are over 20 figures altogether. This one is unsigned and is a wallpocket. The very 3 dimensional front of the pocket depicts an oriental woman who is heavily decorated in an ornate headress. It (the headress) and trim are glazed in a very shiny gold finish. The base color of the plate is a very pale aqua blue. Her face and hands are white. ...

Not usual to find both together so this is a nice offering. They each measure approx. 7 1/2" high x 5" wide x 4" deep. One has a hairline which is depicted in one of the photos. Otherwise in excellent condition on the other.

This appears to be a cold-painted chalkware piece with great 50s character. The beautiful oriental woman is very 3 dimensional and as you can see from the photo, looks great hanging on the wall.
