"The first Shakers came to Logan County in 1807. Four years later the groups was formally organized into a society. Known first as the Gasper Society, it later became known as South Union and continued until 1922." "The print of the home of the Ministry, which was occupied by the ruling body, two elders and two eldresses. This Shaker house sometimes referred to as the 1846 House is located in South Union near Auburn, Kentucky, between Bowling Green and Russellville".
