"Old buildings have a personality, a story to tell that deserves to live on. There is something about a deteriorating, peeling sign, painted on the side of a building , that fascinates me. When parts of the paint have scaled and flaked off, you begin to see other signs that have been painted underneath in the past." "This was my experience as I looked at an old building in Hanson, Kentucky, near Madisonviille. After painting this interesting building I looked for another building to put on the corner. This was found in the historic section of Lexington; a two-story brick residence on the corner of Third and Market Street, near Transylvania College. A perfect subject for my painting which I titled "Market Street" This was the 10th print by C.G. Morehead, Kentucky Artist of Property. 24 3/4 by 18 1/2. Issued in 1970. Print is a signed print by Mr. Morehead
