This is an unusual and very attractive 19th Century brooch in the form of a crescent enhanced with golden balls, delicate swirls and an eight point star set with a red spinel and tiny seed pearls. This lovely early pin has a c-clasp and is hallmarked. The latter is somewhat difficult to read however looks like Chester 1887 (see photos). The pin is just over 1" by 1" and weighs 2.2 grams. It is in excellent condition with some age related tarnish that could be easily removed if desired.
