Vintage Silvertone Evans Carry All Evening Purse / Bag

This terrific evening bag is in a silvertone metal with diagonal stripes and rhinestone decoration on the front and a wonderful mesh handle. Both the front and the back open with the former having a mirrored back, the original Evans powder puff, lipstick and coin holder. We believe the back compartment was originally intended for cigarettes but it is quite large and versatile and can be used for alternatives.

Inside this terrific estate piece was an entry card that reads: "Dancing - Grand Ballroom - Statler Hilton Hotel - Thursday, October 1, 1959 at 10:30 P.M. - 34th General Assembly Meeting - Present ticket at Door" and a triangular logo with a bell and "Telephone Pioneer of America 1875 1911". It does not appear as if the purse has been used since the 1959 event and it is in excellent condition with only very minor signs of use. A couple of the rhinestones are slightly darker however the sparkle is still there and this is only noticeable on close inspection and does not detract. The lipstick holder contains lipstick however we have not been able to get it working and the comb is missing. The powder compact and puff do not appear to have ever been used.

This is a very cool 1950's bag that would still create a sensation at any very special occasion today!
