Sterling Silver & Faux Tortoise Shell Book Mark With Acorn Finial

This terrific early bookmark dates from around 1900 and is made of plastic resembling tortoiseshell, topped with a sterling silver band at the top with a short chain and acorn dangle. It is impressed "Sterling Silver Prov Patent". The total length is 4 7/8" including the acorn finial and at it's widest, the book mark is approximately 3/4" across. This beautiful antique bookmark is lightweight (8 grams) and in excellent condition with a small dent in the acorn that does not detract and age related tarnish that can easily be removed if desired.
