Vintage Copeland Late Spode Greek Red 10 ½" Dinner Plates

We have two of these service plates in the red color tone of Spode’s Greek pattern. The pattern is fascinating with each piece in a place setting featuring a different classical scene in the center medallion and in the border panels. The pattern has been in production since the early years of the nineteenth century with many variations over the ensuing years. These have both incised and printed marks on the bottom, with the red printed mark reading “Copeland Late Spode England ‘Greek’ Rd. No. 639277", which dates the plates to post-1914 when the engravings were registered.

The detailed and very ornate transfer printed pattern on these is the same on each plate. The plates are 10 ½" in diameter and are in excellent/near-mint condition with very few utensil marks that are only noticeable on close examination and do not detract.

It is very hard to find older pieces in this handsome pattern. The price is for one dinner plate and we now have two available.
