The shimmering butterfly wings make a wonderful background for the representation of Christ the Redeemer statue that is located in the national park overlooking Rio de Janeiro and this vintage brooch was likely purchased as a souvenir of Brazil. In the shape of a diamond, the brooch is 1 1/2" from top to bottom and side to side. The butterfly wings are vibrant and change color depending on the angle and lighting from a brilliant blue to green and purple. The brooch has a c-clasp and is in excellent condition with age related tarnish.
