Pre-Eagle Sterling Silver Niello Mexican Bracelet & Earring Demi-Parure

This exceptionally attractive and very unusual set is marked “Mexico Silver” and “Sterling Silver 925" on the back of the bracelet, dating it to the 1920 - mid 1940 period. Although the set is wonderfully designed and of high quality, there is no maker’s signature. The bracelet is made up of nine connecting concave panels and because of the concave shape the bracelet does not lie flat but is rather very three dimensional. Although unique in form, it is very comfortable to wear. Each segment is 7/8" wide at one end, tapering to ½" at the other and is inlaid with fabulous niello decoration that follows this form and evokes images of the pyramids. The matching screw back earrings have the same concave design and are 3/4" high.

The bracelet is difficult to measure because of the concave form of the panels and the safety chain however it will fit a 6 ½" or smaller wrist. All pieces are in excellent condition with only very minor signs of age that are only noticeable on close examination. This set is stunning and a wonderful find for the connoisseur of vintage Mexican jewelry!
