This transferware plate features a picture of Sir Wilfred Laurier, the 7th Prime Minister, and 1st francophone Prime Minister, of Canada from 1896-1911. The back of this commemorative transfer printed plate is impressed 8 07, indicating a production date of 1907, and is stamped "Sir Wilfred Laurier Premier of Canada Ridgways England". This hard to find plate is very attractive with a scalloped and embossed rim and a golden brown and black coloring. It measures 9 7/8" in diameter and is in excellent condition with age appropriate crazing that does not detract.
