Hand Painted Limoges Plate Of Engaging Young Victorian Child With Flower Basket

This is such an adorable picture of a young girl in a meadow with a basket full of fresh flowers and greenery. The plate is fine china with a scalloped edge and rich gold highlights. The handpainted colors are soft pastels that are perfect for the subject, and the young girl looks so Victorian with her wide eyes, sweet mouth, and rosy complexion. While the plate is handpainted, we have not found a signature. The artist though has skillfully and beautifully captured a cherished image of childhood purity and innocence.

The plate is 7 1/4" across and 1 " deep. The bottom is stamped H&Co L France, which we understand is a Haviland Limoges mark from c. 1890. This very special and endearing plate is in excellent condition one glaze miss on the back that was from the manufacturing process and does not detract.
