This is a terrific character cream and sugar set by Beswick in the form of Mr. & Mrs. Varden from the Charles Dickens novel 'Barnaby Rudge'. The sugar bowl is 3 1/4" high and has the impressed mark "Beswick England 1205 Mrs. Varden" on the bottom with a printed brown circular Beswick mark. She is in excellent condition with light crazing and very small paint prick on the back bottom edge that is only noticeable on close inspection and does not detract. This delightful German wall plague with the young boy climbing a fence to avoid a garden frog has the stylized bee trademark number 3, which dates it to the 1957-64 period. It is impressed M.J. Hummel 126. Retreat To Safety is done in bas relief and has a matte finish. It measures just under 5" square and 7/8" deep. There is a small paint rub on the child's hat that is not very noticeable and could be easily touched up. This wonderful plaque is otherwise in excellent condition.

This wonderful wall plaque of the Little Fiddler in bas relief is one of the most recognized and cherished of the Hummel images. It has the Goebel trademark number 4 on the back, dating the plaque to the 1964-73 period, and the impressed MJ Hummel 1938 93. The plague is approximately 4 5/8" by 5" by 1". The colors in this modernist vase are striking with matte yellow and khaki green on the base and a brilliant high gloss orange on the top and inside of the neck. The vase is signed on the underside and while we can decipher Sweden the maker's name is obscured. This terrific vase is 7" high and 3 3/4" across the base. It has a small chip/flake on the underside that may be a manufacturing flaw that is not noticeable and does not detract.

The shape of this 1940's vase shows off the magnificent colors and fabulous tube-lined Magnolia pattern to perfection. This is a magnificent charger designed by Charlotte Rhead for Crown Ducal. It has wonderful, tube-lined, stylized flowers in blue and lilac colors. The gorgeous pattern, “Blue Peony” No. 4016, was produced in the mid 1930's. This fabulous charger has a diameter of 12 1/2" and a depth of 1 ½" at the perimeter. The foot is pierced twice for hanging. The base has the Crown Ducal logo and the signature includes the pattern number and the initial F. It is in excellent condition with light crazing.
