We purchased these two small oil paintings together and are selling them as a pair. They were painted by the same artist, R.G. Harris, and are in identical vintage frames that measure 4 3/4" by 4 1/4" with an opening of 2 3/4" by 2 1/4". We could not find a signature on this harbor scene however penciled on the back is "Early Morning Rockport F Denison" with various numbers. The back also has the sticker for "Kensington Canvas Sketching Panels Favor, Ruhl & Co. New York, Boston, Chicago". We are not familiar with the artist but the painter is most likely American and the setting, Rockport Massachusetts on the US eastern seaboard. This is a lovely original oil painting of what look like Gladioli in appealing soft muted colors. The painting is on an 8" by 10" artist canvas board and is signed at the lower right. The signature is indistinct although looks like TSEKA. This beautiful still life is in a modern wooden frame with raised white insert that is approximately 13" by 11". There is a bit of wear to the white paint on the frame which does not detract and could easily be touched up if desired.
