I have no idea what pattern this but it a very unusual one. I contacted a very reputable place online but they have not seen this pattern. I looked up the mark and it shows that early Furnival was impressed with the name as this is. I would date it from the 1870's to the 1880's. It has fish meeting up with open mouths and a lion man inside of a floral wreath. I am not sure what the significance was of the two. On the inside rim of casserole there is a pattern going all around the rim. The handles and feet almost look like they were added at a different time as they are geometric designed. Really a different piece. The color is blue and white and the blue is very dark blue. It is not black but more like a cobalt blue. The bottom of the casserole is marked with FURNIVAL and a P 8 impressed into the china. The bottom piece measures 13 inches long with handles and 2 3/4 inches high. With the lid it measures almost 5 inches high. There is a chip on the bottom of casserole as you can see in the last picture. It is not a big chip it is more like a surface chip, there are 3 small chips on the inside lid also. They look more like they were air bubbles that popped and browned with age. That is the only flaw I see on it besides some browning and crazing. On the handles it almost looks like the ink ran when they painted it as it looks like it bled. Real interesting piece to add to a transferware collection and in really nice condition.
