Signed Sterling Silver & Abalone Turtle Pin, Taxco, Mexico

There are lots of abalone inlaid sterling silver pins from Taxco, but this little guy is really special. The pin is slightly less than 2 inches long, is about 1 inch wide, and is highly three dimensional rather than flat like most Taxco pins. He is shaped like a sea turtle and is holding his head high. He has a great expression on his face. On the reverse side the piece is signed with Sterling Taxco 925 Mex and the artists initials NA. It has a well attached safety clasp. The condition is fine with some very minor chips of abalone missing, but not significant enough to impact on the appearance of the pin. We have not polished it as the patina is starting to develop nicely into the quality that is so highly sought after by collectors of Southwestern and Taxco silver. You will love to wear this beautiful pin and listen as the compliments roll in.
