Sweetpea Cottage has a set of very attractive heavy pewter tumblers, or cups, with ball feet. Each tumbler is hand decorated with repousse designs. Hammer marks are clearly evident inside of each cup. In addition, there are etched designs cut into the outside. They all create floral patterns of flowers and leaves. Three of the tumblers have designs that are similar and the remaining two are similar to each other. We suspect that there might have been a third tumbler to go with the two of similar design, but it has long ago disappeared. There are no makers marks anywhere that we have been able to identify. We are also unable to establish age as we have not found anything like them in reference books or on the internet. We are selling them strictly as beautiful pieces of metal work and not antiques although they might be quite old. Each tumbler stands about 3 7/8 inches tall and 3 1/8 inches wide at the mouth. They are in excellent condition, showing the normal patina of aged pewter along with the usual soft scratches. They do not have the dings and dents often found in old pewter. As decorative pieces these are superb. You will be quite pleased.
