This listing is for one of Maugham’s more difficult books to obtain, the stated first American edition of For Services Rendered. Published by Doubleday Doran in 1933, Garden City. While the Heinemann printing in London is the true first edition, the Doubleday American first is a more difficult copy to obtain. Condition is VG++ with a Good dust jacket that is almost never present. Dust jacket has some chipping and tears along the edges along with soiling. Cover is black cloth with gilt printing on spine. This play was first produced on April 12, 1933 at the Booth Theatre in New York. Among the cast were Jane Wyatt and Leo G. Carroll. This is your chance to obtain a very nice copy of a lesser known work by this controversial author.
