When was the last time you found a “Made in Japan” Pitcher and 6 Tumblers where all the items were present and undamaged? This is such a set! Done in a combination of Delft colors of blue and white, the pitcher and tumblers all have the classic windmill pattern on them cast in relief.The landscape scene is molded into each piece and wonderfully painted. The pieces are all covered with a glaze that has withstood the test of time. The pitcher stands 8 inches tall and is about 7 ½ inches wide to the outer edge of the handle. Its capacity is approximately 2 quarts, making it perfect for lemonade, iced tea, milk, or water. Each of the 6 tumblers is about 4 inches tall and 2 3/4 inches wide at the lip. The condition of the set is terrific with no cracks or chips. The glaze has the normal crazing associated with such pieces and there are some dings and dents that were made during the manufacturing process and are part of the pieces. One tumbler has a very small crack that is clearly from the manufacturing process since it contains glaze. Each piece is marked, Made in Japan and it dates from around 1950.
