Constructed with old cigar box wood, some with labels still attached, this cottage style miniature mirrored dresser is sure to please the new owner. It stands 14 inches tall, is 8 ½ inches wide and 3 ½ inches deep. The dresser section is about 7 inches tall with the mirrored back making up an additional 7 inches. Unfortunately, there is no mirror in the opening and it looks as if there never was one. It was possibly left that way so as to make it more friendly to young hands. There are three drawers running down the front of the dresser with two hanky boxes sitting on top attached to the mirror back. An interesting and unusual chip carved design covers the front of the dresser and the mirror section. Carved to represent leafy vines, sections of the leaves have been painted with gold to highlight them. There is also some gold on the tops of the hanky boxes and the two candle stands on either side of the mirror opening. The same leafy design appears on the sides but without the gold paint. The front and sides have been stained a mahogany brown and then finished with a coat of varnish. The varnish has developed the alligator hide surface that is often found on older items. The condition is very good with no signs of weakness or breakage. It is ready for immediate display.
