On the top there is a set of letters “C L” with two hearts, clearly intended to be a token of love for someone special. On the inside lid of the box there is a mirror and the treasures that the box holds will be kept from prying eyes by a second lift-off lid inside. Besides the design elements which are wonderful and the craftsmanship which is outstanding, the condition of the box is remarkably good. How many tramp art boxes have you seen that are dirty, discolored, and all chipped up. Not so in this case. Look at the photos and you will see how great the condition this box is in. The box is not without damage. A 1 inch strip is missing from the left front side and there is a 3 inch long split along the underside in the back. The lock is still in place (no key), the mirror is in good condition and the fabric liners are all present and fresh. Overall, it is a clean and bright piece. It measures 10 3/4 inches long, 8 1/4 inches deep, and about 7 inches tall. In our opinion this is a museum quality piece of art, lovingly constructed and carefully preserved over the years for you to enjoy now.
