Sweetpea Cottage is selling a wonderful Regional Navajo Rug that is dating to the 1930's. Most likely this was for sale to the tourists as they disembarked the trains in New Mexico. The colors are black, white, red, and golden-brown with a gray field. The primary design consists of a serrated diamond pattern done in the dazzler style. Overall, this rug is in good shape. The dimensions are about 35 inches by 50 inches, although there is some minor variation as the edges are not perfectly straight. It is very heavy and tightly woven. There are the common color variations throughout the rug that are a result of the blending of different wools, along with the usual lazy lines. This rug might have been on the floor at one time, but if it was, it has survived will. There is no indication of any thinning as would be expected from floor wear. The overall condition is very good with the exception of some very minor spots and pulls. We have never cleaned it and do not feel that it needs cleaning. The corners have the usually loss of tassels along with some minor losses along the edges.

With its very vibrant dazzler design, this is a very nice looking rug that displays well on the wall or draped over a railing or piece of furniture. Its size is ideal for easy placement on the wall in that special spot. We would hesitate to put it on a floor because of its fine condition.
