Do you collect biscuit tins, or advertising tins? If so, then you will want this tin that was given out by the Heinz Corporation in Pittsburgh in 1912 as a Christmas gift. Occasionally these tins come up on internet sites for sale, but they are usually pretty well beaten up. While this one is not pristine, it is in very nice condition. The colors are crisp and sharp on the sides, the inside is clean, and it is overall in good shape. The top is a bit worn and faded, as is common of most tins, but it has survived better than most. There are the normal scratches that are usually found on old tins, but none of them detract from the overall appearance of the piece. It measures 8 1/4 by 11 inches, and stands about 8 inches tall. The hinges are in sound working order and the clasp works fine. There is very little, if any, significant rust to speak of. You will look a long time before you find another Heinz tin like this in such good condition.
