Hand crafted in our own woodworking shop at Sweetpea Cottage, this curly cherry dresser box, or jewelry box, has classic lines associated with a modern look. With generous dimensions, this box is a one-of-a-kind treat for someone special. Crafted like a piece of fine furniture, it has been entirely constructed with curly cherry, selected and cut to emphasize the beautiful grain and color of the wood. Inside, the box is lined with birds-eye maple and has a birds-eye maple tray that sits in the upper third of the box. Both the bottom of the box and the bottom of the lift out tray have been covered with brown padded anti-tarnish, or pacific, cloth.On top of the lift-off lid there is a raised handle that is made from a moderately spalted piece of maple. Surrounding the upper and lower sides of the box there are sculpted moldings that are mitered at the corners. It would serve well as a dresser box, jewelry box, or whatnot box for your desk. The cherry has a beautiful rich color that will continue to intensify over the years. Inside, the maple is a beautiful golden tone that contrasts nicely with the cherry.

The box measures about 9 1/8 inches long and about 7 1/8 inches wide. The box is 4 7/8 inches high with the handle adding another inch. The wood has been treated with a Danish oil, then finished with several coats of a polyurethane/oil finish, and finally hand-rubbed with high quality wax.
