We have seen a few of these little Japanese necklaces from post-WWII 1950’s and this is one of the more interesting of them. Each bead is glass and the fruits seem to be hand-painted because some of the paint is chipped off. There are 6 apples and 5 pears with a variety of red, green and white spacers. The white spacers are actually four separate pieces fitted together to look like one bumpy bead. All pieces are glass and the colors are still brilliant. The clasp is brass and VERY oxidized. It ...
