This is a most unusual long toggle chain necklace by any fashion designer, please read my comments on the description of the Karl Lagerfeld Bow and Arrow pin for more information on this creative genius that became the head designer for the House of Chanel in 1983.

The approximately 38" long chain link necklace has wonderful scroll designs etched into each and every round link of the gold-washed chain. The truly unique and whimsical pendant is what is most surprising, it's actually a small trinket box that opens and has a cherub with wings sitting on the top of the lid that opens and reveals a red enamel box. Please note - the matte finish is a bright gold color.

There are charming cherub decorations all around the oval shape box and more scroll designs on the top, The bottom has the same KL initials as the Bow and Arrow pin. Also the same KL initials are on a cartouche on the lid too. Approximate measurements for the pendant - box are 1-3/4" long x 1-1/4" across the widest point in the center, the box itself without the angel on top measures approximately 3/4" high. The little angel is almost 1/2" high. The gold-washed matte finish is in excellent condition and was hardly ever worn. There are two minor scratches on the bottom of the box that do not show when worn.

Please note this is a heavy piece, i suppose it can also be worn as a belt too as i show in one of my photos, the links can easily be adjusted and removed to fit your waist. This is truly an original piece of costume jewelry by the famous fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld.
