Welcome to Sweetie's Memorable Gemz, filled with beautiful vintage treasures & more. Free US shipping & Lay-a-Way welcome.
The tradition of Miriam Haskell's beautiful wire wrapped jewelry is carried on in this striking large turquoise glass bead and frosted flower petal pin with the famous Russian "gold" leaves that continued when Mr. Hagler started his own company in the 1950's and worked until retiring in 1993 and died in 1996. Ian St. Gielar worked for him since the 1980's and sadly died much too young after a car accident March of last year. The jewelry Mr. St. Gielar created stayed true to the legacy of Stanley Hagler.
Every piece of Stanley Hagler - Ian St. Gielar is a unique work of art to be worn, as i wrote about a previous listed pin that was sold, after buying your first signed pin it's hard to stop, the mix of vintage findings, glass seed beads, vintage glass head beads, the Russian gold plated leaves arranged in multi layers is so characteristic of their exquisite designs.
This pin has an over 1/2" high profile, the measurements are 3-3/4" long x 2-1/4" wide. Both signature cartouches are on the filigree backing and the swivel clasp works smoothly. It is in excellent condition and has never been worn by me in all the years i own it. I understand that Mr. St. Gielar's wife is carrying on and working from his designs and extensive collection of vintage glass, rhinestones and findings that add to the charm of their jewelry. The jewelry created today no longer has the same signature cartouches found on the earlier pins making a pin with both the Hagler and St. Gielar names very collectible.
