Bird Pin - 14kt Gold - Two Birds Perching on Branch with Rubies & Cultured Pearls

Last year i had occasion to sell two beautiful gold bird pins from my collection. One was 14k yellow gold with gemstone accents and the other was 18k white gold with pave diamonds.

For many years i have enjoyed collecting figural pins and especially bird pins, both vintage costume jewelry bird pins made by the finest designers - Marcel Boucher, Trifari, Jomaz and Nettie Rosenstein to name a few. I also collect 14 & 18 K gold and gemstone bird pins.

If you love to wear bird pins then you will love this one too. It's a beautiful bright 14 K gold highly textured to replicate feathers, the body is in relief and 3 dimensional with two wings positioned away from the body almost ready to fly off the golden branch with two prong set white cultured pearl accents. Each bird has one bezel set faceted ruby eye and the birds appear to be animated and chirping away.

The pin measures 1-1/4" tall from head to tail feathers and 1-1/4" across the widest points of the branch. The pin weighs 8.8 grams and is solid and heavy when you hold it. The back is all shiny and polished, not textured gold. The straight pin bar across the back of the two birds measures 3/4" and has a secure swivel clasp that moves easily. If you look carefully 14 K is marked on the pin bar along with a jeweler's mark difficult to read without a loupe.

The pin is in excellent condition since it has never been worn and would make a wonderful gift for any bird lover.
