I LOVE Figural Pins - This charming signed JOMAZ Clown has always been one of my very favorite pins. He is a real work of art. JOMAZ is the name Mazer began using in 1946 until 1981. Originally their fine jewelry was marked Mazer Bros. when established in 1923, later used the name Mazer and right after World War II the name JOMAZ.

I have collected both signed Mazer and JOMAZ vintage costume jewelry for over 20 years and each and every piece is designed and created just like a real piece of jewelry using the finest quality rhinestones and metals. Their high quality is consistent with vintage Trifari and Ciner jewelry too.

This adorable bashful Clown is no exception and is a famous figural book piece created by JOMAZ, it is not a pin you come across very often. To find him in such excellent condition makes him a real collectible treasure to add to your collection.

It might be difficult to tell from the photographs but he is very three dimensional. His profile is over 1/2" high and is very sculptural. Also his size is quite bold measuring 3" tall. Every detail of the enamel work is beautiful, from the black striped pants and shoes to his dark blue jacket, green vest, white shirt and beige tie. His blue jacket has sparkling clear rhinestone lapels. The black shiny hat is also highly sculptural and the tip of his nose has a red cabochon rhinestone.

What i love best is his sweet bashful stance hiding a beautiful bouquet of rhinestone flowers behind his back. Such a beautiful bouquet of three flowers too, one in each color of ruby red rhinestones, sapphire blue rhinestones and emerald green rhinestones with a clear rhinestone center on each flower. The bouquet of flowers looks like a bouquet of real gemstones.

He is rare, special and highly sought after and if you are a collector of the best of vintage costume jewelry this figural pin belongs in your collection. The goldtone metal is bright and shiny and in very good condition and shows no wear, either on the front or back. The JOMAZ c copyright is clearly marked on the back of the bouquet of flowers and dates to after 1955 to early 1960's. Also this pin is very solid and when you hold it in your hand you can feel the heft. The swivel clasp works smoothly.
