Vintage 1950's All-In-One Body Shaper-Girdle-Mad Men Office Girls

Wow, don't I wish I could have had the silhouette that the gorgeously dressed, gorgeously figured young women on the show "Mad Men" (of which I'm a fan, by the way, must be the clothes) have. 'Course, we must realize what was worn underneath to give them that perfect 36" 24" 38" figure, was an undergarment such as this.

All would have owned 3 at the very least of this all-in-one girdle body shaper. This particular garment is in fab condition, no marks or stains and it's an all-over lovely light cream. There are no tags left indicating the maker or the fabric but I'm willing to bet that it's Lycra and elastic. It is very light weight but offers a lot of streeeeeeeeetch.

You can see in the photos the decorative panel in the front with 2 elongated ovals with sheer centers, these are stitched around the edges as is the outline of the front panel. This, plus the sexy scoop and bullet shaped cups, make it one sexy garment.

The straps are elastic and about 3/4" wide, adjustable of course and the bra cups are sheer, again with decorative stitching.

There are 3 hook and eyes at the white reinforced nylon crotch for easy access.

The elastic loops (2 on each leg) remain so garters could be added or not, whatever your taste.

I want to emphasize how very light and airy this undergarment is. You can ball it up and it will fit into both hands but on the other hand, it would cling like surgeons gloves to the figure it's so stretchy.

Sizing: Please note: When I measure any clothing items, they are laid flat, so the measurements are of the garment, not a person. In order to be fairly certain that the item of your choice will fit you comfortably, I suggest that you do the same. Choose a similar item that you have in your closet and make it one that you feel very comfortable wearing. Lay it on a flat surface, take the measurements then compare them with the sizing in the description of the item you are interested in purchasing.

Vintage fashions: Unless otherwise stated, all the items of clothing and accessories that are offered for sale are vintage, ranging from the forties through the eighties. Therefore they have had a great former life and unless noted, all are gently worn. I try my best to buy quality and to note flaws however these items are not new and I do not represent them as “new”. It is recommended that you clean all clothing items (whether they are new or vintage) prior to wearing them. I often don't know the history of the garment and how it was exposed in its former life. Also, I live in an animal friendly house/home:) Even if I didn't, there is still no guarantee that a previous owner didn't have an animal friendly home. Also, I sometimes wear perfume and sometime I might even burn the odd candle in my house. Meals are also cooked here from time to time. Basically we pretty much live here. :)
