REDUCED 1950's-60-'s B. Altman & Co. 5th Ave. N.Y. Beaded Sweater/Cardigan Cream -Lambs Wool-

This cardigan/sweater is in excellent vintage condition with no beading missing as far as I can tell, and all the tags are intact. The maker label reads "Made in Hong Kong for B. Altman & Co. 5th. Aven. N.Y. 70% Lambs wool 20% Angora rabbit fur and 10% Nylon. The lining is 100% Nylon. Speaking of lining, the body is but the arms are not (lined I mean) which is pretty much standard on these items.

There is an awesome amount of white seed beads, (also some tiny faux pearl beads interspersed) decorating the front starting at the bottom of one side wrapping completely around the neckline and running all the way down the opposite side, front.

The edges of the sleeves are also decorated with beads and to top it all off, all the edges of the sweater are finished with a cream binding. The sleeves are Raglan style, to close the front there are 7 hooks and eyes, plus there are 3" vents, one each side, that also have a hook and eye if you wish to make the bottom more snug. This is a small fit however it would be fine on someone with a bit more cleavage if not fastened up.

The only flaw, and I hate to call it a flaw because it's minimal, is that the sweater has a tiny bit of piling and it could use a pressing. I've been free of the iron along time now, I think I threw it into the fire at a bra burning party in the 70's. ; )

Sizing: Please note: When I measure any clothing items, they are laid flat, so the measurements are of the garment, not a person. In order to be fairly certain that the item of your choice will fit you comfortably, I suggest that you do the same. Choose a similar item that you have in your closet and make it one that you feel very comfortable wearing. Lay it on a flat surface, take the measurements then compare them with the sizing in the description of the item you are interested in purchasing.
