This absolutely top notch 2 piece skirt and jacket are not given justice with my rather amateur photography skills.

It's the attention to details that make this suit so unique. The 4 panels at the back of the jacket give it that tell tale nipped waist so forties, as do the darts that run from shoulder to inside edge of the pocket. There is a second set of darts that run down from under the breast area to mid seam on the pocket.

Speaking of pockets, these are amazing. As I don't know the proper term that a seamstress or tailor would use to describe them, I'm going with my imagination. To me, they look exactly like "birds in flight" with stitched detail below to emphasize the shape. I'm sure some tailor out there has a more proper name for this stitching.

There is one large self covered button to fasten the jacket. The inside is lined in what appears to be crepe but most likely is a synthetic that looks like crepe. Whichever really doesn't matter because the end result is total class. There is even decorative stitching on the lining at the nape of the neck. Classy!

The skirt has a very trim and smart look. It is fashioned using 6 panels, again much attention to detail here. The skirt is unlined. This is one "Joan Crawford at the office" suit. Just add a smart blouse, or perhaps a less smart looking, but much more sexy, Cammy. Scarf shown is not for sale unless of course you want to buy it. :)

The fabric feels like ultra suede of today but much finer and a lot less thick. The color is a lovely soft buttery tan. Please excuse the variance in the color but I had to manipulate some to show the detail. The first pic is the closest.

The label reads "Betty Rose Coats and Suits".

Measurements Jacket across back armhole seam to armhole seam 14 1/4" Shoulders 5" Length of sleeve 24" Bust 35" Waist 28" Overall length 25" Skirt Waist 25" Hips 35" Length 26 1/2" plus a good size hem. The skirt closes at the back with a 7" metal zipper and one button.

Condition is very good vintage. The only flaw that I can find it that the suit button is loose. I had to lighten some pictures in order to be able to show the details. The light gold/mustard is correct.

All items I sell are vintage, that includes jewelry, and therefore all have had a previous happy life. Things are not new and will not look like they have just come from the mall. So please, if small flaws bother you please don’t buy, I want all involved in a transaction to be happy, that includes me.

Sizing: When I measure any clothing items, they are laid flat, so the measurements are of the garment, not a person. In order to be fairly certain that the item of your choice will fit you comfortably, I suggest that you do the same. Choose a similar item that you have in your closet and make it one that you feel very comfortable wearing. Lay it on a flat surface, take the measurements then compare them with the sizing in the description of the item you are interested in purchasing.

Vintage fashions: Unless otherwise stated, all the items of clothing and accessories that are offered for sale are vintage, ranging from the forties through the eighties. Therefore they have had a great former life and unless noted, all are gently worn. I try my best to buy quality and to note flaws however these items are not new and I do not represent them as “new”. They will not look like you just bought them at your local mall. So if a slight mark here, a loose button or a pulled stitch there, bothers you please don’t buy. I want my customers to be very pleased with their purchase. If you’re happy we’re all happy.
