The 60's were a decade of new found freedoms and therefore flamboyancy took center stage. This is an example of this, in my opinion. It's a black cone hat, which on it's own is a far out design but this one has a peak, sort of a Robin Hood style peak.
The cone itself is made by gathering the full fabric and lining at the top and then stitching it together. It forms a an 8 petal flower like shape, I hope you can make that out in the pics 4 & 5. The color is a dark black but as you probably know, in order to show details, one has to lighten the pictures.
This hat is in great vintage condition. Very clean and no damage. There is no head size noted but the gros grain ribbon inside measures about 22" around.
