The porcelain has a molded bas relief scene of Bacchus and two followers. One young lady plays the pipes of Pan, the other is nude - quite a risque scene! The porcelain is delicately hand painted and mounted in a brass frame.
The high quality beveled mirror is in excellent condition for its age. It does have several tiny specks near the top where the silvering is lost. Please see the photo of the mirror face.
We are unwilling to disassemble the mirror to verify the Capodimonte mark on the reverse side of the porcelain. This mirror was verbally appraised by a well-known auction house several years ago and was featured in an exhibit to benefit a local PBS station.
