Stunning round porcelain dresser or vanity box, dating from the late 1800's. The top has molded putti or cherubs, one playing the pipes of Pan and the other with a large basket of fruit. The putti are delicately hand painted.
The ormolu sides of the box appear to be metal, but are finely molded porcelain with hand painted gold detail.
The box has no chips or other damages, but has appropriate vintage wear on the bottom and between the box and lid. It is 4 7/8" in diameter and 2 1/2" high. The porcelain is thick and rather heavy
The bottom has a blue N crown mark, underglaze, and is signed by the artist. The signature is difficult to read, but appears to be W. St. Avery
