Raphael Tuck of London England is credited with publishing the first Christmas greeting cards in 1860. This lovely card is a silk fringed postcard attached to a pink padded silk base.

The floral motif is of the Fuchsia flower.

The greeting says: "That Christmas may Be bright for thee Tis roished today By t' mine and me! S.K.C."

The lower left corner says Raphael Tuck & Sons.

The back is heavy cardboard.

DATE: C. 1885

CONDITION: The left edge has come unglued from the cardboard back. It is not torn or damaged in any other way. Someone more patient that I am could easily fix this. Or, it would be wonderful in a frame.

SIZE: 8 1/2 X 11 inches

Item ID: A78
