Pottery Jug with Tudor Rose Emblems and Pewter Lid

This pretty jug has raised emblems that I have been told are English Tudor Roses. Previously, I had also been given information that they are Scottish thistles - so I'm not positive about exactly what they represent - but the jug is gorgeous and a great example of handmade work.

The body has a very smooth feel, the handle looks kind of "braided" and it has a pewter lid that opens and closes. It is not marked except for what looks like some initials on the bottom. It is a lovely piece of pottery, and is very distinctive looking.

It is in perfect condition, and is 6" tall, 6" in diameter at the widest part of the vessel, and 4½" across the bottom. A wonderful addition to your collection, to give as a gift, or display in your home!
