We want you to feel the same warmth and caring as if you were in our home enjoying coffee and talking antiques!
This is a wonderful and early pair of childs spectacles which were made in the Victorian Era. The glasses come in their original hard case along with a note that has been typewritten with "Child's Glasses & Case. About 60 Years Old. Worn by Mother of Harold Damaska, Sr.
We had no idea when the note was written so we tried to do a bit of research to pinpoint an exact date, but were unable to do so. We did find that the F. M. Langnecker, Jeweler and Optician, of New Brighton PA was last in business until 1899. We are confident in stating these glasses date to the late 1800's, probably 1880-1890.
The glasses are for a child but could be used as a pair for a doll as well. They measure 4 1/4" across. They are 1 1/8" tall. The ear wires only measure 3 1/2". They are hallmarked with STEVENS & CO along with the letters S-Q.
Condition is VERY GOOD to EXCELLENT! Case reads: F. M. Langnecker, Jeweler and Optician, New Brighton PA.
They tested as 9K solid yellow gold.
