Early Sterling Silver and Genuine Hand Carved Ivory Diorama Apple Screwback Earrings

This is a fabulous and early pair of hand carved screw back earrings made of genuine ivory. The earring hardware is made of sterling silver and the remainder is genuine ivory.

Each earring depicts a rounded apple which is dyed on the outer portion to such a degree that is extremely real looking. The inside of the "apple" is a delicately carved scene where a man is below a bonsai tree.

The earrings measure 1 1/4" long by about 5/8" in diameter. The condition is VERY GOOD! Each earring is signed SILVER. Dates to the late 1930's.
