We want you to feel the same warmth and caring as if you were in our home enjoying coffee and talking antiques!
This is a fabulous German silver purse. Made of a highly decorative hard shell case, the detail work is extraordinary. Floral designs, scrolls, ribbons of flowers, and geometric lines adorn the front and back of the purse. Measuring 3 1/2" by 2 3/4" this purse is just the right size! The chain handle measures 6" from the purse to the end where it would be held in your hand. Or a total of 12" measuring the entire length of the chain.
So delightful when you open it up and see the four separate change holders and a large pot in the center, which most likely held powder but actually could hold a variety of items. On the other half is a mirror that flips over to a celluloid writing tablet. The original pencil is still present. In the photograph, you can see a bit of pencil marks on the celluloid pad. I have cleaned that up since the photo was taken.
The purse is in GOOD to VERY GOOD condition! It is simply marked GER. SILVER. This is a fabulous early purse that is even more collectible due to tall of the original components being present.
The purse is monogrammed what appears to be M E W. only on one side.
