This set of graduated Picasso Jasper beads are gorgeous. The colors, the patterns created by the criss-crossing lines are truly Picasso-like, hence the name of the colorful Jasper. Great earthy colors, wonderful for the fall season, but definitely timeless. I have used faceted burgundy wine Garnets between the Jasper beads that serve to separate and highlight. The earrings are adorable little dangles, with six faceted Garnet beads crowning a round Owyhee Jasper bead.

Jaspers have been used as ornamental and gemstones from ancient times. They are microcrystalline Quartz in association with a variety of other minerals which give the Jaspers colorful patterns and bands. Jaspers are often named according to its color or patterns.

Garnets are a very popular gemstone and is the birthstone for the month of January. Garnets come in all colors but blue, the red variety being the most popular. Smaller sized Garnets are common, and larger sized stones are rarer and have more value. Giving the gift of Garnets is thought to bring good luck to the receiver by increasing their sense of security and self-esteem. It is also the gemstone to celebrate the 18th wedding anniversary.

Length: 19.5 inches.

Beading Wire: 0.19"/49 strand clear-coated stainless steel professional quality beading wire with sterling silver crimps, crimp covers and sterling silver wire guards.

Bead size: varies from 16 x 27 mm (about 5/8 " x 1") to 8 x 12 mm (about 3/8" x 4/8"); garnets are 3 x4 mm.

Clasp: Round ornate toggle of sterling silver.

Earrings: Slightly longer than 1 and 2/8th inches, on geometric ear hooks. All other metal components are of sterling silver. All ear wires from Sundancegems come with a clear medical grade PVC ear clutch or stopper. These fit snug on the ear wire, and prevent you from loosing your earrings. They will not tarnish silver.

Care: Clean with soft fabric, or non-abrasive polishing cloth. Avoid direct contact with perfumes, hairspray, and deodorants. Jewelry should be worn after application of cosmetics. Store wrapped in soft fabric or sealed in plastic bag.
