Just in time for the holidays—a gorgeous set of twelve Haviland Limoges dinner plates retailed by Charles R. Lynde of Boston, combined with twelve stunning Ahrenfeldt Limoges salad plates made for Ovington Brothers, a renowned high-end 19th century New York retailer.

The cobalt blue dinner plates feature a ¾-inch wide encrusted gold band along the edge with a Gothic cross pattern, and the salad plates have bouquets of brightly colored flowers or “German flowers” forming the center pattern, each varying slightly, on a white background. The border features flowers, which are accented by two cobalt blue bands, and thick embossed gold bands encircle these. These gorgeous plates bear the signature of Limoges artist “Francois Mireille” and they even have gold on the foot rim underneath the plates (see photos).

The dinner plates bear Haviland Limoges Mark 33 (circa 1903-1925) and the salad plates bear the C. Ahrenfeldt Limoges Mark (circa 1894-1930’s).

Measurements: the dinner plates are 10 3/8 inches in diameter; and the salad plates are 8 5/8 inches in diameter.

Condition is very good to excellent, slightest wear to the gold. No damage except for one dinner plate with an old nick on the edge that has been gilded.

See the last photo for an example of an elegant place setting.
