Beautiful Porcelain ~ Flexible Layaways!
Beginning in the early 19th century most dinner sets included a drainer, which was flat and had a hole in the center, with smaller holes all around it. The drainer would fit inside a serving dish and would have been used when serving fish or meat, to drain the juices.
The drainer is 15 ¼ inches in length and 8 ¾ inches wide. It bears the Ernst Teichert GMBH, Meissen, Saxony, Germany mark in blue, which was used circa 1900+.
Condition is very good, no damage. There is a line in the glaze on the foot rim, underneath the drain, which appears to have happened during production.
