Beautiful paneled mulberry / black transfer ware handle less cup and saucer set by John Edwards & Co in the “Foliage” pattern (circa 1847-1873), featuring a garden scene with a towering castle in the background. The cup is 2 ¾ inches tall and 3 ½ inches across the top; the saucer is 5 5/8 inches in diameter. Condition is very good, with no damage. Light crazing and glaze pops, commensurate with age. Inside the cup there is a line in the glaze, which most likely occurred during production.

The plate bears a printed mark with the initials “E K B” (c.1827-40) and the pattern name “Etruscan.” Measurements are: 10 ½ inches in diameter; and 1 ¾ inches in height. Condition is very good with no chips, cracks or hairlines. There are 3 glaze pops in the well of the bowl (see photos).
