INCREDIBLE 1924 graphite drawing by American artist, Carl Link (1887-1968). Depicted here is early 20th-century ballet superstar Michael Mordkin. The dancer was one of the two male stars of the Ballet Russes in 1909. Mordkin was trained at the Bolshoi in Moscow. This massive piece measures an astounding 38 x 57 inches. Framed it is 44 x 63 inches: over 5 feet tall. Contemporary frame with plexiglass. This historically important drawing depicts Mordkin in costume. Every element of the attire and posture is Egyptian Deco. Condition is as seen with extensive restoration to the paper. There are no unsightly stains or discoloration to compromise the effect of the piece. As shipping will be quite expensive, pick-up is recommended. Free delivery is possible: please inquire.
