Beautiful bust depicting Jazz legend, Art Tatum, by American artist, Joseph J. Greenberg Jr (b.1915). A very professionally executed resin cast. Hollow, lightweight compostion with evidence of artisan casting materials used (inner walls). It is unknown whether this piece was ever executed in bronze. No other known examples or versions of this bust survive. Life-sized scale, measuring 12 inches high (15 inches with base) and 8 inches wide. Perfect condition and signed on reverse at lower neck. The original piece was probably executed from life in early 1950's. This version was probably produced in 1970's from evidence the materials and technique supply.
