Sky blue turquoise and deep pink rhodochrosite seem to capture the bright beauty of summer, and I have been offering sets in this combination for many years. Here is the latest version, and a one-of-a-kind set.

The necklace and earrings are crafted in a Renaissance style, lavished with sterling vermeil accents. The gemstones are Chinese and American Southwest turquoise (the Chinese turquoise may be stabilized) that capture the blue of summer skies. The rhodochrosite is a perfect complement, with its deep pink tones. Rhodochrosite (also called the "Rose of the Incas" because it was sacred to that culture) is one of the most beautiful of the pink stones. This is grade A, with some cream banding but no tan or gray striations. It is found primarily in South America, and a few good U.S. mines, and is quite expensive in its purest Grade AAA form.

The center bead is a large 16mm., flanked by 8mm. rondelles of rhodochrosite; 10mm. round beads of rhodochrosite; 8mm. rondelles of turquoise; 10mm. round rhodochrosite; 8mm. rhodochrosite rondelles; 8mm. granulated vermeil bead; 8mm. turquoise rondelles; 8mm. rhodochrosite rounds; 8mm. turquoise rondelles; 8mm. vermeil; turquoise and rhodochrosite rondelles. the last small beads are bamboo-shaped rhodonite, similar in pink to rhodochrosite.

The necklace measures 16.5" and closes with a lobster clasp. In addition, it has a vermeil extension chain so you can wear it up to 18.25" long if you wish. The chain is accented with a smooth 10mm. briolette of Chinese turquoise. The necklace is double-crimped for extra security, and the crimps covered with 14kt. gold-filled cover beads.

The matching earrings are Renaissance style chandeliers, with an 8mm. rhodochrosite bead, vermeil equal-armed cross, and 4mm. beads of fine American turquoise. They hang from vermeil French wires and measure 1 & 5/8" without the wires.

All metals used are 24kt. sterling vermeil or 14kt. gold-filled, and all gems are genuine.
