These sterling silver earring pendants are an intricately detailed pair of birds, intertwined in the classic Celtic eternal weave: they are adapted from a print in the early Medieval Irish Book of Kells. They are accented with a classically Irish gemstone: rare and prized Connemara marble, found only in the West of Ireland and often called their national gemstone. The soft misty green colors always remind me of the weathered moss over ancient stone structures that I loved throughout the British Isles.
The Connemara marble are 6 and 4mm. smooth round beads. The top bead is an 8mm. green garnet (also known as 'demantoid' or 'grossular' garnet', and is the perfect complement to the earthy marble. They hang from my handmade sterling French wires beaded with 4mm. green nephrite jade rounds, and include rubber stoppers for security. They measure 3" with the jewelled wires, 2 & 5/8" without the wires. You'll feel a bit of ancient Celtic magic wearing them!
These earrings match my Celtic Birds Connemara Marble Necklace, also on Ruby Lane.
All metals are sterling silver, and all gems are genuine.
