This is a beautiful portrait plate by Royal Vienna. The portrait is of a monk drinking a stein of beer. The plate starts with a rich green color at the top of the plate and fades into a deep burgundy. Gold flowers are then laced all around the edges. The plate measures 9-1/2" and is signed on the back with the older beehive mark and also marked MIGNON, Z S & Co and Bavaria. I purchased it from a woman who'd had it hanging over the bar in her home for over 40 years. Her friend had purchased it at an antique shop, so who knows where it was before then. It is a beautiful portrait plate and it is in mint condition.
